THE SCHOOL FOR TOMORROW'S ITALY
Demolition with reconstruction of a building used as a nursery school in the hamlet of Colla di Soveria, Catanzaro. We developed a concept with two articulated and permeated volumes, one with a pitched roof, sized according to photovoltaic panels system and the other one is a green roof. The interior spaces unfold around a large entrance hall. The two adjoining classrooms are separated by a "nest", a playful organic shelter and retreat. The pedestrians' entrance reinforces the integration of the school with the urban fabric, whereas the fenced garden offers a recreation and breathing space for the entire structure.
